This one is for my kids.  Always bickering.. I told them this one is specially for them to live in harmony :)

Coin Bag

One of old projects - a coin purse.  This was when I was experimenting with rayon threads.  I kept thinking what to make out of those threads - this is one of the projects.

Rayon threads are lot of work, it has good shine and very slippery!

I still have lots of rolls lying around and now I must think of what to do with these  leftovers!

Floor Mat

I had bought these threads from one of those street shops.  I had liked these as they were very colorful and shiny.  As I had started working with these, I realized that they were a bit hard for a normal home decor.

I had tucked these threads away in some corner.  Recently as I was clearing my yarn stash, I came across these. I started making squares out of these as more to see what can come out of these.

As I started joining these the idea of floor mat came up.  I used all colors I had to increase the size as much as I could.

It simply turned out to be beautiful!..When my kids would ask me what I am making I would tell them floor mat.  When I finished it, my son said "You can't keep this on floor!, it will get dirty!"

Inspiration

This one is the blog and Facebook effect.  I tend to post all my work on my Facebook as well.  One of my husband's cousin has been following my work on Facebook.  She said that she was totally inspired by my work and started learning crochet and wants to do some projects.  She watched some you tube videos and went through some tutorial sites too. Finally she said she wants to do my projects. Oh my...  I have sent her some of my filet creations.  Lets see when that finishes.

Its the bus thing again.  Today I had another one of my bus colleagues(as I call them) actually show me their projects which they had completed.  Pair of baby booties and caps and these were absolutely gorgeous. 

I promised to hunt for patterns for them for baby caps.

I do most of my bigger projects while travelling in bus.  Once in a while some does ask what am I doing and why do I do it. "Do you sell?", "You will find it cheaper in market, why do you bother".

Today was a very pleasant surprise.  I meet this lady on and off at my bus stop.  She was one of those who would always ask me what my current project is.  

Recently she had taken a vacation and gone to India.  When I met her today and asked her how was her vacation she says: "I bought threads with me, since I know basics of crochet, I will also start crocheting"

For the an artist, its a huge achievement if it their work inspires someone else to take up the art!

These are large hoops with different colors.  Personally I love wearing big hoops.  Specially if they are colored.  Since I could not find my color choices...I started creating them :)

Somethings working on time consuming projects can be a little frustrating.  In between my time consuming projects I start making things which I can finish on the same day.  That itself inspires me to go back and continue to finish my time long time consuming project.  Check out this collection - like no other !!

Swastika

I always wanted to design something different which I can use during festivals.  This is my first attempt at creating for festivals.  I simply loved doing this.  Of course while building this piece I kept changing design or I should say fixing the design so that it looks correct.

This piece took a bit long as I kept redoing so many rows - again for that "correct" look.

I had never associated Swastika with anything else besides that we started all our auspicious days with this!  When I had posted this picture on my facebook the question I received was - "Why of all things a Nazi Swastika"

I actually went and researched on Nazi and Swastika.

An interesting learning experience.

Crocheted Peacock - Wall Art

I always wanted to do a wall art.  Do a filet pattern and frame it!.   This was piece which I really wanted to frame it.  It is 60 x 90 inch frame and looks fabulous.  Due to the size, the photo actually does not do justice to the actual piece.  A must have totally exclusive piece!

Red and White Bedsheet

One of my projects which took quite some time to complete.  After dedicating few hours and couple of months this finally got completed.  Recently on May 2013, I have participated in local quilt show where they were actually accepting crocheted stuff also.  I grabbed this opportunity to showcase this piece.  

I did win first prize for this in Crochet Category!!!

My name is Anjana Bhatia.  Crochet is my passion.  



Mom of two fast growing kids, love to crochet. I started this blog as a way to share the patterns that I have come up or come across with over the years. Many of my patterns from the past were hibernating in my computer and in my mind. I can't recall the number of projects and patterns that I have forgotten about, because I never wrote them down.

I don't have lots of projects written down.  But if you like something ping me and I will see if I can give basic instructions.
